Videos from Hieu

Thanks Hieu! Thanks for taking the time out to put these videos online for us. I'm sure everyone is busy, I know I've been (Washington, isn't RMBS land great?!?!).

I'm happy to report that the DVDs I bought in China (Guilin, Acrobatic Show) work on U.S. players, no problem. If anyone would like a copy, please let me know!

Pictures!

Online photos are here! Please find below links to personal websites and photo albums. I'm sure that there are more to come, but enjoy what is available for now. Thanks everyone!

Note that photos in online photo albums can be purchased via the respective vendor, or if you wish you can simply download the full-size photos to your computer for free. I have used Picasa, a Google service, to store and share my photos. If you wish to print any photos, you may choose from a variety of 3rd party companies, since Picasa itself does not provide these capabilities. Natalie meanwhile has chosen to use Kodak EasyShare Gallery, a one-stop shop. You may view and print photos all through Kodak. You will find that most online photo albums will follow one of these two models. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Greetings

Welcome to the Official 05.07 G.A.T. 12E China Vacation Blog. I (Bryan) will be acting as administrator of the site. Here, photos, videos, and comments on the trip that brought us together as friends can be shared.

In case you have already forgotten who your compatriots were, please refresh your memory with the picture below.

Tian'an Men (The Gate of Heavenly Peace)
"It is the main entrance of the imperial city in both Ming and Qing dynasties, where the emperor promulgated his edicts. Tian'an Men is tall and solemn and its rostrum looks majestic with its upturned eaves, carved beams and painted rafters, and yellow tiles and red walls. It is now the symbol of new China."

A Few Notes:
1. If you would like to share your website or online photo album with others, please email me the link, do not post it individually. I will compile a master list and create a new entry. If you do not have an online photo album but would look to start one, here a few places to start: Picasa, Flickr, Shutterfly, Snapfish. These sites will allow 3rd parties to not only view your photos, but buy prints, oversize mugs, and t-shirts for themselves as well (share pictures at your own discretion). If possible, please send me the link before June 11.
2. You do NOT need to be a member of the Blogger community (no sign-up required) in order to post a comment, so don't be shy! Just click on the "comment" link at the end of each entry.
3. If you have something interesting to say/ask/share (or if you just think you can do a better job than me) and would like to post new entries (not just comment), let me know and I will add you as an admin. You will need a Google or Blogger account.
4. I will send out an email every time a major post is made (e.g. links to web albums). If you do NOT want to be on this list, let me know.
5. I hope everyone had a safe trip home. Enjoy!

"9 Million Biycles" by Katie Melua

LESLY!

Hieu: please post the video of Lesly singing to YouTube
Need I say anything more...

"9 Million Bicycles" Music Video by Katie Melua:
There are nine million bicycles in Beijing
That's a fact
It's a thing we can't deny
Like the fact that I will love you 'til I die

We are twelve billion light years from the edge
That's a guess
No-one can ever say it's true
But I know that I will always be with you

I'm warmed by the fire of your love everyday
So don't call me a liar
Just believe everything that I say

There are six billion people in the world
More or less
And it makes me feel quite small
But you're the one I love the most of all

We're high on the wire
With the world in our sight
And I'll never tire
Of the love that you give me every night

There are nine million bicycles in Beijing
That's a fact
It's a thing we can't deny
Like the fact that I will love you 'til I die

And there are nine million bicycles in Beijing
And you know that I will love you 'til I die
